About Ship Green
Ship Green is a force of good. The collective will of like-minded freight forwarders and shipping specialists to make a positive change in the industry. We don't allow members that ship waste commodities.
Our Story
Ship Green is a social enterprise membership organisations that uses funds from our carbon offset calculator to fight climate change. Ship Green is a new initiative, that will operate as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, for shippers and agents.

Ship Green was established by Jenna Morgan, a second generation freight forwarder, with the desire to make a difference in the industry. Having seen better ways of managing logistics to help conserve the planet, Jenna is pioneering Ship Green as a non-profit collective.

The Problem
The global transport and logistics industry emits high greenhouse gas emission rates. Transport and road traffic produce fine particles that pollute the outside air. These particles are not only dangerous and carcinogenic to humans, but they are also toxic to ecosystems.

It's often unnoticed that the items we rely on daily – food, oil, clothing, and furniture – all make the journey to us aboard cargo ships traversing the seas for weeks on end.
With approximately 55,000 merchant ships engaged in international trade, the average size of container ships has doubled over the past two decades. Yet, many of these vessels operate on bunker oil, a byproduct of petroleum refining and one of the dirtiest fossil fuels available.

Presently, maritime shipping consumes roughly 300 million tons of this heavy fuel oil annually. In 2023, international agreements were inked with a focus on curbing emissions in maritime shipping, setting a course for the industry to achieve zero emissions by 2050.

Logistics is often the broken link in the sustainable supply chain. But if you measure the carbon footprint of your shipments and offset them with our environmental projects, you can give back. You will be able to arrange shipments with a greener conscience for forwarders using Ship Green.
