Sign Up, Do Good

Freight forwarders and in-house shipping experts can benefit from our not-for-profit carbon calculator, educational platform, and peer-to-peer network to help mitigate global logistics efforts on climate change.

Ship Green offers both in-house shippers and agents the ability to track the carbon output of your shipments and offset them against a range of global environmental protection programmes.

Logistics is often the broken link in sustainability as much of it is out of the control of the customer. Ship Green is a force of good – a collective of like-minded freight forwarders and shipping specialists to make a positive change in the industry.

What we do

Calculator

Work out your carbon footprint - or the footprint of your clients - with our free calculator. We will also give you financial figures and projects to help you offset your shipments.

Campaigns

As a not-for-profit social enterprise, all of the membership income goes towards fighting climate change in a number of campaigns. Read about our projects here.

Education

We will summarise all the latest legislation, news, and views on sustainable shipping in our info hub so you don't have to. Sign up for our newsletter so you don't miss a thing.

Pledges

As a member of Ship Green you will pledge the following:

Slow Down

Choose the slower ocean freight option wherever practical, rather than the quickest services or air freight. Reducing the speed of a cargo ship, “slow steaming,” by 20% can reduce a ship’s emissions by up to 40%, and underwater noise pollution by two-thirds.

Avoid Old Transport

Be conscious of older more polluting vessels and vehicles, and choose alternatives.

No Waste Shipments

To not ship waste around the world to landfill or burning sites. Encourage clients and governments to look for alternative solutions. One country’s waste should not be another country’s problem.

No Arms or Conflict Minerals

To not ship firearms, weapons or ammunition.

No Single Use Items

To not ship single-use plastic items unless absolutely necessary, i.e. for health and medical uses.

No Elaborate Cross Trades

Choose and encourage your clients to use, low-carbon logistics wherever possible, and to not participate in elaborate/unnecessary supply chains around the world.

Anti-Slavery Supply Chains

You must vow to not knowingly be part of any corrupt supply chain where slavery has been used to source, harvest, make or transport a product. Forced labour in global supply chains requires stricter due diligence.
